Important Information
Please RSVP by 1 February 2025
Booking payment due by 1 March 2025
Once RSVPs are received, we will finalise the rooms for everyone and email you the total cost and our account details to transfer the money by a specific date. Those sharing with other guests (bunkhouse or lodge rooms) can expect a cheaper price.
All enquiries, bookings and payments for Midginbil Eco Resort must be made via Mat and Steph. Don't take it personally, but the resort owners do not liaise with individual guests and will redirect you to us if you try to contact them directly.
We've tentatively reserved the safari tents and lodge rooms for our family, elders and closest friends. Once we receive all RSVPs, we may adjust to ensure everyone's comfort. Rest assured, we'll do our utmost to accommodate your preferences.
For all other accommodation options, it's a first-come, first-served affair. But don't worry – there are plenty of beds to go around, and those sharing will be grouped with familiar faces to ensure an enjoyable stay.
The Lodge Rooms or Bunkhouse Rooms can accommodate up to 6 people, so if you're happy to share with other guests, just let us know when you RSVP, but you won't be forced to share if you don't want to.
The RSVP form asks if you're happy to share, and there is a comments section at the end to add anyone you would like to share with. However, there's no need to have all your roomies lined up before you RSVP, as we can work this out based on everyone's RSVP preferences and ensure you end up with folks you know—no random roommates, we promise!
Depending on how everything shakes out, some of you might even snag a big room all to yourselves. So, don't stress about the details and contacting other guests to see if they'll share with you. Just let us know you’re willing to share, and we'll handle the rest!
Our vision for the wedding weekend is an idyllic adult retreat. We understand, however, that for some guests, attending without their little ones might not be possible.
If you're considering bringing your children, we ask that you reach out to us first. While our setting is designed with adults in mind, we're open to discussing how we can accommodate your family’s needs.
Please note, the resort's beautiful but rugged natural landscape requires vigilant supervision of all young explorers for their safety.
We're crafting an adult-centric celebration but appreciate the significance of family, so let’s talk about how we can make the weekend enjoyable for everyone.
While we would love to celebrate our wedding with everyone, we have a finite number of accommodation facilities at Midginbil Eco Resort, so we have limited the RSVPs to invited guests only. Only a select few are allowed to bring a plus one (it will say on your invite). Please check with us if you want to bring a plus one.
While we’d love for you to join us for the entire weekend, we completely understand if you can only stay for part of the weekend festivities or if you'd prefer to stay at nearby accommodation instead. The most important thing is that we get to celebrate our special day with you, and we hope this weekend serves as a relaxing mini-holiday for all our guests. Your presence, for any length of time, means the world to us.
Please just let us know your plans in your RSVP.
When you arrive, go to Reception and check the room list for your accommodation type and room number. You can then park your vehicle in the appropriate area for your accommodation. Your room contains a resort map and welcome information.
The property is open for all to mingle from 2pm on Friday until 11am on Monday.
Friday night welcome drinks and BBQ will be held from 6pm, but the kitchen closes at 8pm. We can plate up dinner for any late arrivals.
Early June is the beginning of winter in NSW, so definitely pack a jacket. The average temperature is about 20°C during the day and 12°C in the evenings.
We’ll have a bonfire, heaters and extra blankets to ensure everyone stays snug, especially for our Darwin friends!
We're all for embracing the festival theme, and we trust your judgment on what to wear for our wedding ceremony. The beauty of staying at the same location is that you can make a few wardrobe changes throughout the day/night if you want.
Don't forget the Off-White After Party on Sunday. Check out the What to wear page for more info,
Food
Mat and Steph will provide the catering for the key moments - the wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday, along with the recovery breakfast on Sunday - the rest of your meals are included with your accommodation.
Kick off the festivities with a welcoming BBQ dinner on Friday, leading into a wholesome breakfast and a light lunch on Saturday to prepare you for the day's celebrations. Post-ceremony and reception, the culinary journey continues with a recovery breakfast on Sunday, easing into a leisurely lunch and culminating in a surprise mystery dinner. The weekend will wrap up with a farewell breakfast on Monday, ensuring a satisfying end to the celebrations.
Drinks
As our thank you for making the journey to attend our WedFest, Mat and Steph are decking out the weekend with a mix of beers, wines and non-alcoholic options, from Friday dinner till Monday breakfast. It's our special gift to you to keep the spirits high.
Fancy a particular drink? Let us know in your RSVP or bring it along to chill in our cool room.
No problem at all. Just mention it in your RSVP and our caterers will take care of the rest.
Absolutely, you're welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks for those in-between meal moments. All meals and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are covered in your accommodation fee (or by Mat and Steph), but please feel free to pack any of your favourite snacks! There will be room in the cool room to store anything that needs to be refrigerated if needed.
Potable water is on-site, so we encourage you to bring your reusable water bottles to stay refreshed throughout the weekend. In keeping with the spirit of our eco-resort, we're aiming for a 'low waste' wedding, so we kindly ask you to make eco-friendly choices and avoid bringing plastic water bottles.
The venue offers plunger coffee with breakfast and instant coffee or tea anytime - on the house! If you're craving a barista-style brew, the Homestead Dining Room has a coffee machine serving freshly brewed coffee for just $3, day or night. If you need change, just ask the friendly kitchen or office staff.
Swimming pool
Bring your swimmers because the resort has a solar-heated, saltwater pool available for use during daylight hours.
Tennis court
The resort has a tennis court with racquets and balls for your use. They are only basic items, so if you are a serious tennis player, please BYO gear.
Sightseeing
If you have access to a car, you can climb Mt Warning, visit waterfalls or check out nearby towns like Uki and Nimbin. We know it is quite a trip for the majority of you so we want you to enjoy your time while you’re here.
Yes, they're on the same property, but a short car ride is needed to travel between the ceremony and reception locations, as it's a bit too far to walk. Don't worry; your accommodation is within walking distance of the reception and bonfire.
We'll have a convoy set off from the Homestead carpark to take everyone to the ceremony spot. At our BBQ dinner on Friday night, we’ll fill you in on all the details about this mini-journey.
Being situated in such a secluded location, Midginbil Eco Resort has little to zero phone reception, so be ready to go off the grid. The house does have a landline which can be used for emergencies or for parents that need to check up on their little ones at home.
If you are with Telstra, you will have some service, blue tick phones are best as they have better service in country locations.
The resort has an iron and ironing board between the Homestead and the Lodge Rooms in the laundry. Guests can take it to their rooms to use and then bring it back. There are also several garment steamers in the Bridal Room in the Homestead, where the bridal party get ready.
The resort also has a few hairdryers available for guests if they require them.
Your presence means everything to us, especially knowing that travelling to Midginbil Eco Resort is quite a journey for many. Please, no gifts are necessary – just bring your wonderful selves to share in our joy!
